Bharat Sevashram Sangha of North America,New Jersey
This is very unassuming place for a religious place from its external outlook. If you don’t look carefully you might pass it on as any other normal building. This is Bengali temple.
The temple has a simple structure. There is large hall and at the farther end of it has the deities lined up from left to right. Deity idols are fashioned in the Bengali outlook. They deities are stunningly gorgeous and exquisitely dressed in silk.
The large hall room has idols of Bhagwan Ram, Mata Sita ji, Shri Laxman ji,Shri Hanuman ji, Bhagwan Vishnu, Mata Laxmi, Shri Radha-Krishn, Bhagwan Shiv-Pravati, Mata Kali, Mata Saraswati, Bhagwan Ganesh ji, Mata Durga. Temple atmosphere is quite peaceful and pious.
This is an excellent place to visit during the Durga Puja where rituals are performed as per the actual time table unlike few other Durga Puja celebrations where they want to conclude 5 days of Puja in a weekend. Most of the activities take place in basement.
They have a decent parking space. However temple gets quite crowded in Durga Puja and getting parking becomes quite difficult thought management arranges to park nearby.
They have their website where activities list are placed and they are very punctual about timings of Puja. Unlike other Pujas in NJ, they don’t force you to make a donation.
The staff and priest are very helpful. We are not sure if this place is handicap-friendly as there are few stairs in order to climb to the ground level.
